We held our annual All Day Festival on 30th September 2017 and having said this before that this Festival just keeps getting better and better, its true this Festival just keeps getting better and better, and boy o boy the atmosphere was electric.
To start things off we had Stillwater, favourites to the club for many a year, they soon had the floor filled with their brand of old and new country music. Linedancers and Social dancers just loved their set so I am sure they will return very soon to entertain us again.
To finish off the afternoon we had the fabulous Donna Wylde. A young lady who is small in stature but huge on talent. Donna was awarded with Female Vocalist of year in 2008 and in 2010 and awarded best solo act of then year in 2015 as voted by the B.C.M.A. and also awarded the CNN Solo Act Award for 2016. Donna has such a bubbly personality that her spot was all over far too soon. Hope to see you back to Stonehaven very soon.
After having an hour off to have tea and a change of clothes it was on to the main evening session
Starting off was James N Wood, these two cheeky chappies with their entertainment value and sense of humour they had the audience in a dancing mood. In between their set Red Canyon made a short apprearance. It was great to see the great man back in Stonehaven. The floor was quite quiet during his appearance but it was great just to sit and listen to a legendary country voice singing pure country songs.
Next to grace our stage was the ever popular old time favourites to Stonehaven was High and Dry. Robbie, Ryan and Mike did us all proud with their set, keeping the floor filled from start to finish. These guys have been gracing our stage for many a year and as they say things mature with age, these guys certainly do, as age is passing us all by, these guys just get better.
And to finish off our day filled with drama great fun and craic was a reletavily new band to Stonehaven and that was a great bunch boys known as Cimarron. These four guys kept everyone spell bound with their good fun and fantastic music keeping every one dancing right up to the end and still wanting more. Well done guys and I'm sure we will see you all soon.
That just leaves me to say a huge thank you to our very own June Walker who keeps our Club going week in and week out which is a huge responsibility. June also keeps the club afloat which is getting quite difficult as the numbers are dwindling, so if you are at a loose end on a Saturday night please come along and support your local Country Music Club.
Remember folks that next year we are celebrating our 40th year as a Country Music Club, so do expect a few surprises along the way, but you have to attend.
Lastly a huge thank you to Robbie and Ryan for their organisation of the bands and keeping the sound to the highest standard. And a huge thanks to all who attended the event and remember KEEP IT COUNTRY
