Stonehaven & District Country Music Club held their annual Festival on 27th September 2014.
This yearly all day Festival just seems to get better and better as the years go by. We are now celebrating 36 glorious years
as a Country Music Club, which in its self is a magnificent feat by all concerned.
The Festival kicked off with the fabulous duo Carson City, and what a great start to the day, with their own blend of Country Music
the floor was soon busy with both line dancers and social dancers. This duo are regular guests to Stonehaven and we were all
thoroughly entertained for the first two hours.
Next up was solo artist Steve's Country Sound. This was Steve's first Country Music Festival and it was an honour to have him at
Stonehaven. Steve is graced with one of the nicest country singing voices and kept us entertained for his two hour spot.
After tea our first artistes of the evening was the very popular duo Jolene and Barry, they have graced our stage in Stonehaven for many
a year and they will be back to do our Christmas Dance. Its always a treat to have them with us, they always keep the dance floor busy
with their own brand of country music and are to of the nicest people you can meet.
Up next and for the very first time at Stonehaven was the country sounds of John Permenter. Have not heard John since the Ayr Festival
days. John is a true professional and his singing voice is second to none. He has magic fingers that made the fiddle do the talking and
had the Stonehaven Country Music fans well entertained.
Next up, was sadly, our last act of the evening and it was the return of the north east favourites The Brothers. They have been entertaining us at Stonehaven for a good few years and always go down a treat with all of our dancers. Unfortunately Shannon was unable to participate for us but the boys as always produced some great entertainment.
Sadly that is it for this year, already looking forward to next year.
A huge thank you to all the artistes who graced our stage and a special thanks to Robbie and Ryan for giving us a great sound
through out the day.
A very special thanks goes to our Chief June Walker who through out the year works tirelessly behind the scenes, she has run our club
single handed, booking bands, organising Festivals, its an ever ending job.
So on behalf of Stonehaven & District Music Club - JUNE WE LOVE YOU
