Another year and another Festival has past us by. but having said that it was another great one day Festival at Stonehaven.
First up we had starting the day of fun and dance was the ever popular Double Trouble. This Father and Son duo did not dissapoint.
These two excellent Artistes had the floor filled in seconds of starting their set and kept it filled throughout both their sets. Drew and Terry just keep getting better and better, and what a great start to the day, Thank you both and hope to hear you back at Stonehaven very soon.
Next up was The Norman Borland Band, a recently formed five piece band. Norman Borland is a well known figure in Stonehaven as he has appeared in Stonehaven as a solo artiste and a duo. The five piece band went down very well with a mixture of new counrtry and some of the earlier country songs which kept all the members and guests entertained during their two hour set. I am sure we will be seeing you pretty soon back at Stonehaven.
We then had a break to have a change of clothes and get fed to keep up our stamina for the evening session.
The evening session started with the very popular Blue Horizon. This group who come all the way from Darlington are always a favourite at Stonehaven. Christine has a voice like an angel and backed up by band mates Mark and Dave it was not long before the dancers found their dancing legs and had the floor filled during their two sets. Blue Horizon always enjoy themselves and just love being in front of a crowd and it shows as all the members and guest just loved having them up at Stonehaven to entertain us.
Next we had a Solo Artiste Bill Alexander. Bill is a regular at Stonehaven, and is a man that is pure country and with his smooth velvet voice it was easy to see how popular he is here at Stonehaven. With his own brand of country music and some cajun music Bill kept the crowd entertained and dancing for his two hour set.
Lastly we had old favourites Still Water back with us. Frank and Danny have been keeping us entertained here in Stonehaven for many a year, with their own brand of humour and great talent kept all the line dancers and social dancers on the floor for their two hour set.
Frank even said their might be a CD in the near future, we wait in anticipation.
Thus ended another great day in Stonehaven and would like to thank all the bands for their particiation in the days events. A special thanks goes to Ryan Petrie who kept the sound in very cramped conditions and kept all the artistes in pristine condition.
Last but not least a huge special thanks to our very own June Walker who again pulled it out of the bag. Her continuous had work and dedication to he club is very much appreciated by all our members and friends and without June we would not have a club and somewhere to go on a Saturday night
