The club started in September 1978 at the Heugh Hotel. It then moved to the St. Leonard, then to the Commodore and finally to its current home, the Station Hotel in 1982. Originally the club was held on a Wednesday night however the owner of the Station Hotel asked if we would like a Saturday night and it was the best thing to happen.
I have been a member of the club for 34 years and seen a lot of changes during that time. People come and go. We had a lot of American members until the Edzell base was closed some years ago. My late husband, George, was compere until he passed away 6 years past. Now Harry Strachan is my compere and is a great guy doing a grand job. He has been a tremendous help to me. Last but by no means least, I have a great membership of over 100 and all of them help in many different ways. I can't mention everyone but I have to mention Lillian who does all my posters and programmes and is brilliant. I am lucky enough to say that everyone of my members are all my friends.
